Two poems by the writer of La Carolina, close this small tribute of gratitude and recognition
Friendship is love, but its flameBurns without being consumed. This pure light,Breath of virtue, the harderMore soul holds more inflammation.
The wounded heart pours the blissful balm that healsIn an insensate and haplessWhen the rescue called reason.
Fine, but free of cruel anxieties;Unrivaled Jealous, is exemptProve the harsh indifference of gall;Virtue has taken on its ownPerpetuate the faith, longing facesTwo souls who swore on its altars.
You mourn and rejoice; rage and tenderness;Delirium seems that prudence;A bonfire fastest
growingThe more you resist the bravery.
A lover is ill to cure,But with his own wounds are vain;The likes solitude and sad;
Time is short and long, slow and hard.
It stands alone in the crowded room;If spoken to answers annoyed;No you do not see similarIn order to cause their care.What is love, you ask?
I conclude:Living a soul in the body that is not theirs.
